30 hour famine♥
Last Saturday and Sunday, i went for 30 hour famine.I went the D.I.Y camp which organized by Kah May,Jwu wey,Melissa,I-Yin, and ameeta.
The camp was held at Subang Segi College in 6 floor at one of the biggest theatre hall. I had asked my friends and my bf to donate money because i need to collect RM 100 only can go join the camp.
30-hour famine is an annual event organized by world vision. It has been around since year 1997. According to the website, the Famine has always been about enlarging worldviews and empowering people to rise up and fight poverty and injustice. This year theme is ' 给孩子‘无穷’的快乐'，you've got the power!
Saturday morning,i reached there ard 930am. After i registered,getting my green cloths on and everyone had a different colour tag, i got a white tag which my team leader name is clairessa. 8 person in a team.
The camp started at 10 am. The camp leader gave us some briefing then we started with the Ice Breaking Game. We sat in a group then we had to decorate our group postal with group name and group slogan.
Our Group name are X.O.X.O

After the Ice Breaking Game, Jwu Wey ask us this tissue roll 'how many piece of tissue u want?' i said i need 4 pieces. Aft we took, kah may told us 'how many pieces u took,u should tell ur team member abt urself they do know abt u'.
We continue with the famine challege.The 1st famine challege is water.The camp leader gave us each group 1 bottle of 600ml to collect water by asking other ppl, drain,fountain,toilet bowl, and pee urself, except cannot bought a new water or collect from sink. This challenge is let us to know tat appreciate water is very important. Others country,Some of the younger children have to fetch water for their family from far away.
The 2nd challenge is used newspaper to build ur own house. We bring our recycled newspaper to build our X.O.X.O warm house. Other country,most of the family been living under plastic sheets ever since.

At night, we will be having a theme of the night, which is the 'Kampung Night'. Each team member is required to dress up in the kampung style whether it is 'Kampung cina', 'nyonya', 'india' which meets the theme. The camp leader gave us a sketch. Our sketch is 'ancient and modern handphone'. I'm the ancient kampung cina.

After the Kampung Night, is a reflection. Each 1 had a candle in front of us. The camp leader asked us count 1 to 2 then blow ur candle.The only 1 candle gave the children HOPE. We share our feelings with all the members. I realized that we're truly blessed and the least we can do is give of our abundance to those who have nothing.
When the time reached 11pm sharp, we need to go to sleep. Everyone took out our sleeping bag put on the floor and ready to sleep.It is my 1st time to sleep in sleeping bag. i cant sleep well,i jus sleep 2-3 hour only.The hall is so so so COLD.

The next day......
540am i dy woke up...i can't sleep and i'm very hungry. When i finished brush teeth, i went to the hall to call dor woke up then i sat down on the chair and wait for everyone to get ready.
After that, we do exercise and yoga.
Rosaline gave us each a Certificate of appreciation :P
'Dai Ka Jie' & me~
The last 4 hour, we headed to National Hockey Stadium, Bukit Jalil for the countdown concert. There are a lot of campers which came from different school and college, different sociaty, and different states. so, what we to do later? hehe.. i had my face and hand painted. thanks the girl for painting. love it!!

Me~After waiting for so many hours, finally, its about time to break-fast.
everyone was so excited. counting down from 10 to 0.. Omg! can you feel how those famine people feel. they craved for food now. they want it now. they cant wait any longer!!
just a simple ceremony, volunteers let go of 200 balloon up to the sky under dato's instruction, and everyone break-fast.

Finally 4 hour had passed, we get one V-soy and one KoKo-Crunch.Yummy~ This is a meaningful and wonderful event although i really exhausted and i enjoyed it so much. This famine is a really intense experience.
